Types of dimensions



Confirmed Dimension:

Dimensions maintaining relationship with more

than one fact table are called as confirmed

dimensions

Shrunk Dimension:

Dimensions which are not directly linked to fact

tables are called shrunk dimensions

ProdName                 CustId
SubcatName            ProdId
DeptId
Dept Dim
DeptId                            No direct relation is there.So Dept       
DeptDes                         dimension  table is shrunk
DeptMgr                        dimension table
